The EPA can finally disclose how much money they intend to make the City pay to finance the EPA Superfund program and what services they expect the City to cut as a result!

This fear mongering needs to stop.

I look forward to the EPA's meeting.

The Mayor had 8 years to clean the canal and did nothing! Who cares if public services are cut? No children, nor anyone should be permitted to live there given the contaminant dangers.

The city and state will be sued for billions when all the people living there now will die of cancer. The city must vacate the area immediately and condemn all the contaminated housing there.

12:55 Who do you think is going to be paying if the City does their "alternate plan?" NY City taxpayers will be footing more of the bill than if the Feds take over. Why don't you do a little clear thinking? You are not making sense.

Hi Plow,

The City doesn't have a legitimate plan.

They have no intention of evicting Gowanus businesses to clean our brownfields. To do that, an urban renewal plan would be needed. Only superfund can condemn via fines so those properties can be cleaned.

9:34 I'm with you. Thanks for the clear info. I'm astounded that Anti-Superfund are still trying the scare tactics. So blatant. Shows they have nothing real to argue with, how weak their position really is.
