In the summertime, these elderly gentlemen meet daily at the bocce court in Carroll Park.
In the wintertime, they mostly gather at the corner of President and Court Street.
Of course, they were standing on their corner today.

I love these old guys and the longer I live here the less I see them in numbers. The South Brooklyn generation is shrinking..

Nice photo, too.

I get nostalgic when I'm walking by & hear bits of Italian spoken by them. Ah, the good ole days!

I love it. These are the old Italians still residing here. Reminds me ofwhen I was a little girl and my grandfather would always meet his friends at the 'old' bacci court in Carroll Park. He would take me with him .I understand their conversations as I pass them by because I still speak Italian and their distinct Neapolitan dialect! ah, the good old days of carroll gardens!!

I agree with Anon 2:35. I, too, understand what they're saying, and sometimes it's quite amusing!

Please tell.
Yesterday, they were having a rather heated discussion, especially the two gents on the right side of the photo.

Maybe they were debating Silvio Berlusconi's latest antics...that will make any Italian conversation quite heated for sure!

Actually, they talk about how great it is to charge high rents to newbies!!

Natalie,
That's too funny. Probably true, too.
