With the temperature continuing to climb way above where it should be for March,  nature is quickly awakening from its winter slumber.  It was astounding how many flowers and trees were blooming or just about to bloom in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden this Sunday.
Luckily, the Garden really was not very busy at all, and those who had come were definitely enjoying themselves, especially the little ones.
Don't wait too long to plan a visit.  Daffodils are everywhere and the Magnolia blooms are about to open.

We are hosting our young niece at the moment.  Since she has never been to Manhattan, nor to Brooklyn before, there is much territory to cover.
As part of the tour, we showed her St. Augustin on 6th Avenue in Park Slope, the church in which Grandma and Grandpa Kelly got married.

Wow...most of this has happened in the past 2 weeks. Only the hellebores and witch hazel were out when I was there the last week of Feb. -- oh, and the crocuses. It's all a full month early, anyway, because of the unusually mild winter.
