Gowanus Canal Superfund: Major Announcement Expected From EPA This Morning

This morning, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is expected to release the Record Of Decision (ROD) for the Gowanus Canal clean-up.  The ROD explains which cleanup alternatives will be used to clean up the  Superfund site.  It is a giant step forward in the process and a big day for the Gowanus community.
The EPA announcement will be made at 11:00 AM in the Lowe’s parking lot.

"On Monday, September 30th, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Regional Administrator Judith A. Enck will be joined by Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez, state and local officials and community representatives to make a major announcement about the cleanup of the Gowanus Canal Superfund site in Brooklyn, New York, one of nation's most seriously contaminated bodies of water."
