Cornice Of Clinton Street Building Comes Tumbling Down. No One Hurt.

oo

Carroll Gardener Christian sent the photo above and reported to us that the cornice of a building on Clinton Street between Union and President Streets came tumbling down last night. The weight of the debris took with it the window lintel and some molding as well.
Luckliy, no one was injured, though the event rudely interrupted some late night stoop sitting.

Here is a link to Christian's own "tongue-in-cheek" reporting on his blog.

Where did this occur? Clinton and Union are perpendicular. Thanks. Glad no one was hurt.

I can't say that I'm all that surprised. There's been so much damage to our streets over the last few years due to the construction on Court btw Union and Sackett. Trucks regularly speed on that corner, often making our building shake.
