As the Holidays are approaching, we all should take time to think about the meaning of the season.
Lending a helping hand to those in need is, after all, so much more gratifying than shopping for gifts that none of us really need.

In that spirit, Friends Of Carroll Park, the non-profit organization dedicated to improving the park for everyone, is launching its annual City Harvest food drive campaign to collect non-perishables to help fight hunger throughout New York City.
The items most needed are:
- canned fruit - canned vegetables
- peanut butter (plastic jars)
- macaroni and cheese (packaged)
- hot and cold cereal (packaged, family-sized)
(Please note that City Harvest cannot accept glass containers or dented cans.)

So, on your next shopping trip, please pick up an item or two to share with hungry neighbors this holiday season and drop it off at Carroll Park
