Thank You, Brick Underground, For Including PMFA On Your 2016 List Of 25 Best New York City Neighborhood Blogs

oo
Brick Underground, the popular New York City real estate survival guide, has just compiled its list of 2016 Best New York City Neighborhood Blogs. And for the third year in a row, Pardon Me For Asking has been included with twenty four other NYC blogs.
Virginia K. Smith, who put together the list, writes:

"Though the name of the blog implies something of a raised eyebrow, Pardon Me For Asking is more of a sunny local presence in Carroll Gardens and Gowanus. Run by longtime neighborhood resident and community activist Katia Kelly, the site often reads like a lovingly-rendered photo diary of day-to-day life in this particular corner of Brooklyn."

Thank you, Brick Underground. It is quite an honor to be listed along some amazing blogs like EV Grieve, Tribeca Citizen, Free Williamsburg, and Greenpointers.
And thank you for recognizing neighborhood bloggers and their contribution to their community.

Congratulations Katia. You totally deserve this honor and so much more for your tireless blogging and for keeping us all so aware of the most pressing community issues! I run to your blog for more information on the:the Gowanus Canal Superfund Clean-Up Delay, the F train express (that will leave us here in Carroll Gardens G with 50 per cent LESS trains); the overcrowding in our schools and lack of Pre-K spots and so much more!

That's very kind. But PMFA would not be anything without my wonderful readers. So thank you to all.

Greetings Katia,

Congrats on the kudos, although they are telling us what we already know! Your blog is a wealth of important info! As your other reader stated- it is the go to blog for details on the neighborhood! Keep up the torch!

Congratulations Katia! Well deserved! And thank you for all your work. I know it is a labor of love, and dedication. I hope there is some way that you can preserve this amazing record of PMFA. It is such an interesting "slice of life" of our community, here and now. It woud be great if it could be historically preserved for the future as well- are you able to do that with blogs? Does the technology allow for that?

Thank you so much, Agnes. I often wonder what will happen to all of the online information in the next 20 or 50 years. Technology changes so quickly….
I suppose my photos will be able to tell the story even if the words disappear.
