Indian Table has taken over the former Brucie's space at 234 Court Street between Baltic and Kane Streets. According to the first Yelp reviews, the food is fantastic.
The storefront and the interior space have been nicely renovated. A tiled accent wall looks lovely and so do the mosaic tiled tables.  Several bar stools line a nice wooden bar in the back and there is additional seating along a copper-lined shelf along the street side.
The menu includes interesting options, many of which are vegetarian.  Prices range from $7.95 to $9.95 for appetizers, $12.95 to $20.95 for entrées.  There are choices of  six different Tandoori breads and several variations on Basmati rice.
Indian Table has applied for a liquor license and hopes to have a full bar soon.

Have you been here yet?

They were shut down by the Health Department a couple days after opening. I think they're reopened now.

When I walked by Sunday, it had a sign on the door from the DOH saying they were closed. Did they reopen since then?

That's too bad. I am sure they will work it out and re-open soon, if they have not already.
I stopped by last week and took those photos.

Oh the old toy shop!
I can still see where the fancy baby dolls use to be kept in that space.
If only we were a community that once again ate at home and there were the range of interesting shops in the neighborhood once again.

What was the name of the toy store? Laughing giraffe?

Coming back to Brooklyn for a visit this week. Will avoid this place like the plague. All of these violations are for golden rules that every respectable restaurant should never break.

The toy store was named The Laughing Giraffe at the Money's Wedding. I remember the Playmobil sets.

That was it and it was 'monkey's wedding." It was a great little store with wonderful toys.
For years I saw its owner in the neighborhood, but have not seen her for a while now.

Don't trust YELP reviews....

Don't forget it was also Cube 63!

The Monkey's Wedding! Gosh what a great place that was. Thank you Katia for the memory!

They closed down for a week and repaired all of the violations before reopening.

Ate there last night. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was extremely attentive.

No ill effects from the food this morning, for either of us.

Early Yelp reviews are often friends and family of the owner, which means they're fake or not to be trusted.

My wife and I ate there the week they opened (first week in April) and the food was awesome. They got slammed that night and the kitchen hadn't yet figured out how to deal with a rush, but the staff was attentive and the food was tasty and well-presented. Was thinking of going back tonight, that's how I came upon this thread.

Ate there last Friday and it was awesome!!! The kitchen seemed slammed and a bit disorganized but food was great. Will be going back if health violations are fixed

My wife and I have been there twice, once dining in and once for delivery, and were thoroughly pleased both times! Very delicious and authentic Indian flavors. So glad to have it in the nabe = ]
