See? I wasn't lying, dear Reader. Take a look at the buds on my camelia. If we are all just a bit more patient and don't complain about the snow and the cold, spring will be here before we know it. Really.
And for a preview of what the camelia will look like very, very soon, click here.

Crossing my fingers that this latest cold snap doesn't damage the buds!
ReplyDeleteEverything seems really late this year. How does the timing of this year's buds compare to past years?
Hi Katia,
ReplyDeleteHow lovely...and hopeful! Tell me, do you know what type of camelia you have? I thought that camelias were not winter-hardy in our area. Thanks!
Hi Chris,
ReplyDeleteYes, I am hoping that they will survive, but warmer weather is on its way.
I am not sure if we are late this year. No signs of my crocuses, but my daffodils are peaking out of the ground. How abut yours?
Hi Maryann,
ReplyDeleteI really don't know what type it is.
I bought it a few years ago and it loves my front garden.
It has grown quite a bit, too.
Now living in SF and Fort Bragg CA but I still miss Brooklyn even after 30 years. Your Camellia's will be beautiful. The bud looks very healthy. I will be visiting often. A great post. Happy Spring gardening.
