Ground Breaking Imminent At 340 Court?

oo

There has been some buzz this morning about Clarett's 340 Court Street site . Fresh in from the Carroll Gardens Neighborhood Association's email group:

"A neighbor just told me she had 2 days to get her car out of
lot-breaking ground was imminent"

So much for Clarett's intention of reaching out to the community with the proposed design. Figures!

I read in Brownstoner or whatever it is called that Clarette does not want a fight with the "residents" and has planned on 6 or 7 stories instead of 21! i also spoke to a woman who lost her parking space. I still have not seen a permit. i think they are lying.

Slow down there. Before there can be any ground breaking, the developer has to do some test pits, borings, and demolish the existing structure. That all has to happen before they can start digging a foundation, but all of those things require the parked cars to vacate. From what I've heard, Clarett has engaged both DiBlasio and Milman on a regular basis...

There is a back hoe digging up the parking lot, but, I don't think that is them. They are digging under the Apple Bank building. No permits to be seen just a girl with a clip board and the back hoe operator. i doubt Clarett will reach out to anyone. It will all be speculation, hype..Millman doesn't always have the answers either. The Clarett website has some really ugly renderings, but hard to tell if they are for that corner or not. I will be sad to see that piece of Functionalist Architecture ripped down. .
