Work Begins At Former Bonafide Delicatessen On Henry Street In Cobble Hill

The two pictures above were sent to me yesterday morning by reader M.P., who simply wrote " The sign is coming down today."

She was referring to the wonderfully decorative white and green sign over the Bonafore delicatessen at the corner of Henry and Baltic Street near PS 29, which has been closed for quite a while now. Wanting to check it out, I grabbed my camera and headed over there by lunch time. By then, the sign had been removed and dumped into the back of a pick-up truck.

Back in September, it was reported that a new sandwich place was going to move into the space.

Bonafide, meanwhile, lives on at Bonafide II at 118 Kane Street.
