As many of you may already know, the Environmental Protection Agency released the Feasibility Study (FS) for the Gowanus Canal right on schedule at the end of 2011.
The purpose of the FS is to "develops and evaluates remedial alternatives for Gowanus Canal sediments that
will reduce or eliminate unacceptable risks to human health and the environment from
exposure to contaminated sediment and surface water in the canal."
The 550 page document can be accessed online here.
The EPA will hold a public information meeting on the FS on Tuesday, January 24th at 7 PM in the auditorium of Public School 58, 330 Smith Street.
The meeting is open to everyone.
