Over the last few months, progress has been slow but steady at number 441 Carroll Street, between Nevins and 3rd Avenue.  Where once stood a crooked two-story, aluminum-clad building on the lot, which was demolished last year, there now stands a brand new gabled home.  Construction began last summer and it now looks as though its near completion.
According to the NYC Building's Department, this is a 2 family home with cellar and attic.

How refreshing to see a non monolithic development. I think this home is quite cute!

Wow! what a little vision will do. This looks great & love the balcony! Wonder how much it cost to build? Sure will be worth every penny!!

I am curious to know the architect - not that I can afford to do this type of work on my place :) - and the contractor.

Ugh what an ugly, out of context piece of junk! It's going to look so nice with cars parked in front. Way to ruin a block instead of trying to fit in.

Credit for not building something that towered over the neighboring buildings.

3rd STREET?

Sorry, my bad. I just changed it to 3rd Avenue. Thanks for catching the mistake.

Thanks to all for your positive comments. This is my home! Architect is DSA.

I would love to do a follow up post and interview you as well as feature more of the house, if you are interested.

Hi Neil, fit in??? Lol didn't know we had to "fit in" !! That's silly and ignorant. But you are definitely entitled to your own opinion. Take care...
