Proving that one can be stylish at any age, the elderly lady always manages to look put together: Long high-healed boots, black leather gloves and wonderful broadly rimmed hat.
I've never seen her either, but what a breath of fresh air, given the way people dress these days. I see too many people on the subways in the mornings actually going to WORK looking like they're going to clean out the garage. Neatness and cleanliness speak just as loudly as slovenliness...which would anyone rather be? More power to her!
I have seen her around and she looks crazy .. She has a pile of makeup on her face and pushes an empty babystroller she is no babysitter or grandma just another carroll garden nutcase
I have never seen her - but what an inspiration she is!
ReplyDeleteIs she using the stroller as a cart or is there a kid in there?

ReplyDeleteI think she does have a kid in there sometimes. Don't know if she babysits or if its her grandchild.
ReplyDeleteI've seen her around Sackett Street between Clinton and Henry, i have always wondered about that baby carriage! She is ALWAYS dressed to the 9's!
ReplyDeleteHi FIB,
ReplyDeleteI knew you would appreciate her!
I wouldn't be able to walk as much as half a block in those boots!
wearing tons of makeup and pushing an empty stroller is NOT fashionable!

ReplyDeleteWe love her. See her almost every morning on Union or Sackett. The wife wants to have her over for tea. I'm SURE there are some stories there.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love her too.
ReplyDeleteShe puts a smile on my face every time I see her.
