Greetings from down South, dear Readers.
My husband and I have been talking about visiting Savannah, Georgia for a very long time now, but we never managed to do so. Until now, that is.
I was immediately charmed by the city. Savannah, with its waterfront, its wonderfully planted squares, and its beautifully restored homes is one of the most walkable cities I have ever been to. It must also be one of the greenest. Stately live oaks and palm trees line every street and every square, providing shade and lushness.
Of course, April is a perfect time to visit. The azaleas and the camellias are in full bloom and it is not yet too hot or humid.
I must admit that for a brief moment, I was tempted to leave Brooklyn to move to Savannah. Don't worry. That won't happen and I will be back in Brooklyn very soon. However, in my mind, I had already picked out a perfect house and a small garden that I could happily tend to.
See?
So true, beautiful City, I just visited for three days and I'm ready to go back. Your photographs are fantastic and you managed to capture the City in all its glory. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't already, please take a day trip to Wormsloe. And opt to walk instead of drive down the main path. It's magical.
ReplyDeleteOh, I wish I had known. Next time, I guess. I am in South Carolina now.
ReplyDeleteLove your images of Savannah! We love Savannah but the restaurants are still not up to par with Brooklyn.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, but not too many places outside of New York can compare with the choice and quality if restaurants.
