Saturday On Court Street:
The little girl in the strawberry hat
seemed transfixed by the huge poster
of a not-so-scary monster
named Carol.
Her father smiled and said:
"Every time we pass by here,
I have to stop because
she wants to look at the picture."
And as I walked away with a smile,
I had to think of the many times,
I read aloud about a rumpus involving monsters
to my own son Max,
before he went to sleep at night.
