Just a few days ago, a Kumon Learning Center was coming to Smith Street, across from PS 58. Now,  Brownstone Tutors is taking over the space above Pranga Books at 345 Court Street, just three blocks away.  According to the web site:
Brownstone Tutors is a collection of highly educated, richly experienced, resourceful and personable academic coaches. We offer intensive private test-prep courses, as well as expert tutoring in most subject areas. We are available to tutor students of all ages in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. Our tutors will also travel to Westchester, Nassau, and Bergen Counties.
Previously, the storefront was the home of Hax Café.
The opening of two tutoring places within weeks of each other and in such close proximity makes one wonder.  Is there a sudden need for tutoring for PS 58 students?
Or is this just an indication of the neighborhood's changing demographics and an increase of parents willing and able to pay to give Junior a head start?
