On Sunday, under a brilliant sky and while the Court Street Festival was under way, members of Friends Of Carroll Park were joined by 17 volunteers from New York Cares, the city's largest volunteer organization, running volunteer programs for 1,200 nonprofits, city agencies and public schools.
Their help was greatly appreciated and much work was accomplished. Parts of the iron fence surrounding the park got a much needed coat of paint. So did the eight benches around the Robert Acito park house.
The volunteers come from all around the city. Through New York Cares, the connect to seniors, children and special events such as winter coat drives.

I am sure you will join me in thanking these young people for giving their time to beautify Carroll Park.
If you would like to do the same, click here for information on how to join New York Cares.
And of course, you can join the Friends of Carroll Park group as well.
