Since I just wrote a piece on an art show which took place on the Public Place site back in 1982, I was particularly interested in the notice from Community Board 6. There will be a meeting concerning the clean up effort along the Gowanus Canal. The Army Corp Of Engineers as well as D.E.P. will be there. Should be fascinating! Lets all try to attend .

The City should be ashamed for not addressing this toxic, probably carcinogenic, disaster zone... Meanwhile uninformed New Yorkers are purchasing top dollar for surrounding real estate. If this was Europe, the waterfront would have been pristine and appreciated.

I could not agree more.
As far as I am concerned, it is criminal to consider building residential housing anywhere near its shores.

but yet I hear there is condos galore - are these buyers completely uninformed or just dumb?
