Quite A Halloween Crowd In Carroll Gardens!

oo

I bought a ton of Halloween candy, and I mean a ton. (All right, my husband, my son and I ate our fair share of it last night in anticipation) But, knowing that the weather was going to be glorious, I had gotten more M&M's and Butterfingers than I ever had before. Guess by what time I ran out? You will never believe it! I officially distributed my last candy at 5:15 PM. The street was full of little goblins, little Dorothies, ghosts, princesses and witches. What a turnout! There sure are a lot of little people here in Carroll Gardens.

I don't think I ever recall SO many trick or treaters as there was this year...Court St. and the Clinton Street area were insane..

It was insane, right? I am glad I am not the only one to think so. I thought I was on a sugar high and was hallucinating. There were kids coming from every direction.
The entire time I was standing there handing out the candy, I had Jerry Seinfeld's Halloween routine go through my mind:
"Wait a second, what is this? The orange marshmallow shaped like a big peanut? Do me a favor, you keep that. Yeah, we've got all the doorstops we need already, thank you very much. We're going for name candy only this year."

I do agree, incredible turnout!

Henry Street too!

60 pieces in 30 minutes...

Which one did you steal out of the assortment. I love the Whoppers...or whatever they are called.

I feel so cheated having grown up not knowing about Halloween as a child growing up in Germany.

Alors, une autre française à Brooklyn! Et bien, il y en a de plus en plus.
In Germany there was Mardi Gras or Fasching n February. We used to get dressed up for that and there was always a big parade. And some candy. But it was the wrapped hard candy. Not the chocolate that they have hear. That may have changed. I should ask my relatives
