For Bill De Blasio, Dial 718 854 9791

oo

For Bill De Blasio, dial 718 854 9791, but frankly, it won't do any good. Mr.De Balhblah seems to think of Carroll Gardens as a second-class citizen, ignoring pleas for help by its citizens to protect the neighborhood from developers. And the frustration is showing up everywhere, including on the wall next to the main F train Subway station at 2nd Place.
This just in from the good people at C.O.R.D:

It looks like an awful lot of people in Carroll Gardens are trying to "Wake
up Bill!!" (DeBlasio) as words to that effect plus his telephone number are
painted across the top of the mural. They seem to be saying:

Councilman, the clock is ticking on our beloved neighborhood (as we still
know it) and you are STILL ASLEEP at the wheel.....!!

T.S.
Hmmm.........

De Blasio doesn't care CG and I doubt he ever has. I have been wondering why De Blasio did not also keep a Court St. office like DiBrienza did (and DiBrienza had an excellent staff that were very knowledgeable and returned phone calls).

I think many of those who attended the landmarking meeting were perturbed that De Blasio showed up late, gave a spiel, and left. We can expect more of the same as he embarks on his campaign for BP and reaches out to other communites not in his district. Especially if he reaches the conclusion that he has burned his bridges in CG or that the votes of CG constituents aren't needed for a win.

Good luck with getting a phone call returned unless people call about a particular en masse.

Dear Anon,
You are right, I never thought about the fact that Bill does not have an office in C.G the way DiBrienza had.
But then Steve DiBrienza's mother had (and I think still has) a store on Court and his brother lived here in my street until he moved to New Jersey about 15 years ago. So Steve was truly connected to the neighborhood.
Bill is a Park Sloper who does not understand what makes Carroll Gardens tick. In addition, he and his staff are incredibly disorganized and frankly seem to be more interested in getting Bill elected to higher office than to represent his constituants.
It is up to us to advertise the facts about Bill and to make sure that he never become Borough Prez.

De Blasio is clueless, period. Kennsington, PS, CG, you name the neighborhood he is either clueless or just a sleazy politician who will say anything to anyone.

I have found his office in Kennsington is staffed by high school kids with an office manager who won't talk about any issues, just take names and "concerns" to track.

Ask him about the Post Office in Kennsington and why it took Assemblymember Brennan to do something about it. After voters consistently complained to De Blasio.

I really feel like all of the voters in his district have to come together to oppose his run for Borough Pres. Something like UNITED CITIZENS AGAINST DE BLASIO.

De Blasio is really just become the ugly political stepchild of Markowitz.

Also ask De Blasio why he continues to support Atlantic Yards (his security photo-op was pure political posturing) when the majority of his constituents oppose terrible idea that is Atlantic Yards.

Let all get together and STOP DEBLASIO IN HIS TRACKS NOW!

first anonymous here again.

When De Blasio was first elected I thought that maybe he would have his "finger on the pulse" of CG given all the time he spent at the district 15 office. I guess I was naive.
In an odd way it is comforting to learn that CG is not the only neighborhood he is neglecting.
I don't know the "real" reason De Blasio supports AY but I am sure his affordable housing rhetoric is just that.
I know these complaitns about staff/nonresponsiveness have been going on for years. If he cared he would have done something about it.

I think we all know that Bill has loftier political goals in his sight.
The District 15 School Board as well as City Council are just stepping stones until he gets to where he REALLY wants to go. They are just positions that he can put on a résumé.
Does he care about what we all say about him? Does he think it can hurt him? I believe that he has some mighty powerful friends who will make sure he gets to the top no matter what he has done up to now.
Will he deserve higher office? Of course not.
As a representative for his constituents, he deserves an F.
We need to let the rest of Brooklyn know that he let us all down!
