In My Mailbox: Brooklyn Conservatory Children Chorus Auditions

I am passing this along. It seems to me that this would be a wonderful activity for any child. Read below. Who knows, maybe your youngster is interested.

Come see us perform! The Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music Children's Chorus will be performing this Saturday, January 26th, 4pm at PS 282 (on the corner of 6th Ave. and Lincoln Place in Park Slope). The upper and lower choruses will be performing classical, pop, contemporary and folk pieces. There is a $5 suggested donation for adults. And join us this Spring! If your child is in 1st grade through 8th grade they can join the chorus this spring semester. Auditions for new students will take place Monday, January 28th, from 4:30-6pm at the Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music (on the corner of 7thAve. and Lincoln Place in Park Slope). You can call 718-622-3300 to schedule a time. It is not necessary to prepare anything for this audition. The Children's Chorus has 2 sections. Chorus I is for students in 1st through 4th grade and 5th graders with no prior experience. Chorus I rehearses on Mondays from 4:45-5:45pm. Chorus II is for students in 6th through 8th grade and 5th graders with prior experience. Chorus II rehearses Wednesdays from 4:45 -6pm. The Spring Semester begins the week of February 11th and there is a final concert on Saturday, June 14th.
