Did you see the article that the Doe fund group will no longer be cleaning and tidying up on Smith.
(those guys in blue uniforms).
After initial grant is over the merchants would have to pay and I guess not enough interested.
Is a shame because helped quite a lot - now look for more litter and grime.
The merchants of Smith should be ashamed of themselves, especially the restaurant owners. Over the last few years, they have attracted crowds to this strip and now, they refuse to come up with the extra money to clean the trash left behind.
And local residents are left to deal with the garbage and the rats...
How about a boycott until they pay their fair share of the clean-up?
Sounds like a great idea!! With the Manhattan prices these restaurants are charging it would be nice to give back to the neighborhood
