Clarett's "Contempo Colletiono ala Quarte"

I received the following email from a neighbor of the Clarett Site at 340 Court Street. Here is his reaction to Clarett's newly revealed name for the development:

"Have you seen the marketing has begun for "The Contemporary
Collection-On-Court"? Loft condos, contemporary townhouses and raisonettes, how darling. I do prefer "Contempo Collectiono ala Quarte'" or "Three Forte'Quatre''

No matter how many times our elected say they are going to bring them (Clarett) back to the community to discuss the plan I would say based on this, it is not happening and there will be no more community input. If they want to come back now, it will be a marketing p/r effort to promote the building."

Regarding the polka dotted appearance of " The Collection" he comments:
"I'm sure it is just the way they are rendering it, and very cheaply I might add. The have such little taste and class. My theory is Marvelous Marvel wanted gray and Rigid Rogers wanted white so Clarett made them both winers and did white with gray dots."

Personally, I tend to agree. The amateurish, non-detailed rendering of the development is certainly a pretty transparent way of avoiding more controversy. When the Clarett Group unveiled the plans for the "maisonettes and duplexes" at a meeting back in April, the design of architect Rob Marvel of Rogers Marvel didn't go over too well.
Easier just to depict the massive box-like Court Street building as a line drawing with polka dots instead of showing the " gray sand-blasted cement board" clad structure that the architect has planned for the site.
