Dear Smith Street Resident,
I hope you like your new "Fagerlit" shelving unit from Ikea. Was it easy to assemble? The instructions seemed a bit confusing. How does it look in the apartment? I guess you couldn't wait for the Red Hook store to open and had to schlepp all the way to Jersey. May I suggest though, that next time, you dispose of the cardboard properly instead of leaving it right in the middle of the sidewalk where everyone has to stumble over it? This city does recycle, you know.

Katia, I am really surprised at your insensitivity to the homeless and your "damn the torpedoes" flippant chastisement of the Ikea-product-owners.
It is very possible that those cardbpard pieces in the middle of the street were used as a mattress for homeless people before you came and disrupted their habitat.
Please, Katia, don't pretend you have it all figured out.
Dear Anon,
I wish i had it all figured out. My life would be infinitely easier...
Believe me though, these boxes were no make-shift mattresses for the homeless.
They were smack in the middle of the sidewalk. Everyone walking on that block had to avoid tripping over them in the pouring rain.
A wee bit of consideration by the 'Ikea-product-owner' would have been greatly appreciated.
