Today Is The Day: City Council Votes On Carroll Gardens Zoning Text Amendment

The Wide Streets Text Amendment unanimously passed in the City Council!

Now that's worth celebrating!


Today Is the Day!

The full New York City Council will vote today on the
Carroll Gardens Zoning Text Amendment. This is the last step, friends.
Let's hope it passes so that there is at least a small measure of protection
for our great little neighborhood.

does it means that all constructions already started are limited to 55' ?

Well, it depends on how far along each construction project is.
If the foundation is not completed, the development would have to be changed to the new regulations. But developers can appeal in front of the Board of Standards and Appeal.
But we were told that there would be an instant stop work order issued on the construction sites that are on the blocks mentioned in the Text Amendment.
We will see what happens.
