Picture Of The Day: Last To Bloom

oo

The Late Bloomer

The plants in my garden
Have gone dormant for the winter

Except for one:
A chrysanthemum

With small daisy like flowers.

It is blooming abundantly
amidst the falling leaves.

Katia,
What do you do to grow such healthy, beautiful, and flawless blooms? I'm curious! I'm always struggling with my garden!

Hi Maryann,

I think my plants have been thriving with neglect this year. I really haven't done anything for them at all.
I do however water regularly, which is key, I have come to realize.

This little beauty has been growing happily in my garden for a few years now. It always takes me by surprise with its cheerful colors when it does finally bloom, later than any others in the garden.

Well, neglect or not, the plant is beautiful, and I've seen a few photos you posted of your garden and I'm envious of the quality of your flowers! I'm always watering too, but our water bill last quarter was a shocker, despite my putting in plants that are more drought tolerant. I'll keep trying though. Thanks for sharing your lovely flowers!
