First Affordable Housing Unit At "Public Place" Available Now...But It's For The Birds
The first affordable housing unit seems to have gone up at Gowanus Public Place at Smith and 5th Street . Not quite designed by Rogers Marvel Architects, I am afraid. Its for the birds, you see.
The super toxic 5.8 acre canal front lot, a former gas manufacturing site owned by Brooklyn Union Gas, has been slated for development. "Gowanus Green" will include over 700 units of mixed-income housing.
