Look, Crocus!...Or Is It Croci?

oo

Slowly, slowly,
in the warmer sunshine,
the snow cover melted
in my Brooklyn yard
and revealed...
yellow crocus
(or is it croci.)

See, I told you spring was almost here.

Crocuses I think. Am watching the sun come up and so happy spring is on the way. Thanks for the sweet reminder.

After seeing your blog, on my way home last night, I passed Kirstin's garden by the Union St. bridge - and there were crocuses starting to pop out and give a hint of their green. That garden is such a labor of love for the community, and gets more beautiful every year (if that is possible).
Katia, I really love how you balance nature and beauty with bringing knowledge and awareness of community issues to us.Thank you.

Well, thank you so much.

I love Kristin's garden. It is such a pleasure walking by there in the summertime.
Hope everyone will have a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather today.

I would say "Crocuses", or even just Crocus. Like "sheep."

More specifically, these look like C. chrysanthus, which also bloomed in my yard last weekend.

Croci in Latin?!
Do you remember from Madame Mine and Madame Mathieu when we learnt latin? Here, in Le Puy, crocuses are not still blooming...

I leave for England tonight with 100 students,7 colleagues and 2 coaches. I hope, the weather will not be too wet.

Bonjour Violaine,

Yes, indeed, I remember our Latin classes together.
I was always a total failure in the subject.
But I did forget the names of the teachers. Thanks fr reminding me.

Am envious of your trip, but I do not think that I would have the patience to travel with so many students.

Have a wonderful time,

Katia
