A Moment In Time: Man And His Hound On Bond

oo

He was riding his yellow-wheeled bike
along Bond Street
as his hound ran alongside.

I had seen the pair in the neighborhood before.

Have you?

I believe I've seen this man on an electric skateboard skating beside his dog. I've never seen him walk. Ever. Glad to see he switches it up with a bike!

what's the point? why take pictures of unsuspecting brooklynites? i think it's rude--especially the pic of the couple kissing. what if they were married to other people?

oh-oh -4:24 Taking pictures of "unsuspecting brooklynites" - there is a whole tradition in photography of capturing moments, interactions between people, slices of life. I am thinking, for example (since you mention "kissing") of that soldier coming back from WWII and kissing a girl on the street - was it in Times Square? How powerful that picture was, and is. Going further back, Atget's street scenes of people in Paris. I really appreciate the moments that Katia observes, not only of people, but in nature, too. Like the bird chirping, the bluebells appearing. Stop and think, observe, feel - and Brooklyn is a treasure. It is a walking place. One of the few such places in our country. Walking gives more time for catching life's glimpses. And Katia has a beautiful sensitivity for that.

Don't worry , this is my wife and me. No problem. That's what's life looks like in CG: friendly, and lovely. Katia certainly loves Doisneau!

as a matter of fact, the photo in times square was staged! the pics of flora/fauna are lovely, indeed--i just take umbrage of pics of elderly people struggling with pushcarts, moms pushing strollers, etc. it seems that most of the unflattering photos are of the 'old timers'.

Hi 9:39 - I guess it all depends on point of view. You say "struggling" "unflattering" but I have never seen an unflattering picture of 'old timers'. I like that we have such a range of people - young and old - in our community - that the 'old timers' are still out there and part of it, as they should be.
