It was almost dusk when I came home last night.
As I walked through the gate into my little front yard,
the amazing blue of these Virginia bluebells
caught my eyes.
Had they been blooming when I left the house?
No matter!
I am glad I paused long enough to admire them,
for they will certainly be gone in a few days.

lovely...sigh...
It is amazing (and wonderful) how things just appear in gardens. Nature is working quietly while our minds are busy with our daily activities.
I am wondering if Virginia bluebells are related to the Texas bluebells.
These are Spanish Bluebells, Hyacinthoides hispanica, the same bulb that are about to fill the Bluebell Wood at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
Virginia Bluebells, Mertensia virginica, looks very different.
Flatbush Gardener, What would I do without you!
I have to have you over to my garden one of these days, so that you can help me identify some of my little plants!
See you tonight at the blogfest.

Hi
I notice some police activity on Court Street, Cobble Hill side, with a large crane by a building, structural issue?
Thanks,
I think there was a building collapse early this morning.
