Comment Of The Day: Kicking Up Dust

oo

Anon has left the following comment on the post "Super Speedy Brooklyn Street Cleaning Does Anything But Clean":

For years now, whenever I see the street cleaners coming I move as quickly away as I can lest I get a lungful from the cloud of dust they kick up. They drive too fast to be effective and often leave the brushes running when they aren't sweeping. The worst part is the noise; these are some of the loudest trucks on the street, especially when they speed.

Hi Anon -

I'm sorry to say that "the worst part" is that on most Street Cleaning Days the sweepers don't even come up the side streets.

Sure they zoom along Court or Smith (but like you noted: Too Fast to be of any use)but forget Carroll or President Streets, etc.

The only ones cleaning up are the Ticket Givers (not from our local prct. if you'll notice) who tend to ticket even AFTER we're allowed to move our cars back for alternate side. Has anyone noticed that their clocks always seems to run 4 to 6 mintues slow so that if you park your car EXACTLY on time they ticket you for parking too early?!?

Thanks Mayor Bloomburg. Less Cleaning & more fines!!!
