Oh! I didn't realize THAT was where the Tea Lounge had been. That space has been a difficult one for a long time.
Oh wow. Guess I should have bought some more coffee and snacks instead of just using their wireless? I wonder what will replace them?

A reader actually wrote in to tell me that rumor has it that it will be a fried chicken place. But no confirmation on that yet.
More and more businesses are closing around the area. A prominent business just shut its doors on Atlantic Ave b/t Court and Boerum. Check out my blog post to see all the stores that have closed in the past year on just one side of this block

I think tea lounge is closing 2 out of 3 locations, so its a bigger trend for this mom and pop shop. That said I think Cafe Pedlar just came and stole the golden egg - its not about couches and wifi, its about really really good coffee. Tea Lounge had bad coffee IMHO.
I will be much happier if it's a Cafe Pedler with "really good coffee" and not a fried chicken place.
