Carroll Gardens will be watching how Brad "I'm the only candidate with kids in public school" Lander handles this since he will play an instrumental role in the ULURP.
Is my understanding correct in that Hannah Senesh School wants the additional space for a theatre and computer room (which the school already has)? As a public school parent this angers me especially with yet another round of budget cuts looming.
Hannah Senesh should look for another space if they want to accommodate more students and sell the building back to the City for a "token sum" to use as a public middle school which our district could certainly use.

They should build something more in character with the community, such as an outdoor area for teenagers in hoodies to shove each other and curse in loud voices. Or perhaps a Gowanus style benzene laced vacant field.

I fully agree with Anonymous - 1:33PM. A good example is the beautiful "transit garden"in 2nd place, with seats for elderly. In front of PS58 kids. Our neighborhood is a mix of generations living together. This is just life and certainly much better than the big wall that the Hannah Senesh community day school want to erect between people.

I agree with Anon 8:01 -

Hannah "bought-in" to the neighborhood, then erected WALLS to block itself in. They even have 'shanty style' wood panels resting along thier back fence so thier Brownstone Neighbors can't look in.

Look in on... Their illegal Private Car Lot? Their Trash bins that are kept out at all times?

Now they want to put another 2-3 story building sticking straight up?

Do the parents or teachers shop in Carroll Gardens? Heck, they don't even feed the meters - they have Private Parking in what is supposed to be a "Green Courtyard"

Not very neighborly.
