Hubby and I go to Marco Polo every year for Valentine's Day. We LOVE it!
Hubby & I go to Red Rose every Valentine's Day (LOL: even the name is romantic!)
You walk in and the 1st people you meet are the owners who have been in that spot (it seems even at that same table) for over 25 years. Most times you'll even catch them holding hands.
Nine D on Court is pretty, intimate, and serves great Thai food.
At cozy home with music, candles, and feast gathered from neighborhood stores stores. Wine and catnip. Me and the cat, but oh well, that's ok. Love is found in unexpected ways.
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!
Not in this hood, but Noodle Pudding is always nice.

Hi Katia,
What about an interview with Annie & Tony of the Red Rose. They've had thier place here for over 25 years and had a sandwhich shop on Cheevier Place for a dozen years before that. The Red Rose is still family run and thier daughter-in-law even opened her business (Vintage Cellars) next door over 12 years ago.
This could start/continue a series of talks with old-time restaurant owners. You could do Casa Rosa, then Sams, Vinny's, etc.
You could let people know that this was a Restaruant Row long before the pretenders came along.
(I bet you never got thrown out of any of these places like you did from Frankie's that time!?!)
What do you think?
