Marty Markowitz is an opportunist par excellence.And he has a thick hide. I once asked him if he would support cleaning up the Gowanus, and he responded something to the effect of: "You people like what I did there, my support of the rezoning for Toll Brothers." I don't know who he meant by "you people", because I certainly wasn't one of them. But I and my interests don't count where he's concerned. It's developers and big business for him all the way!
