Take a look at this newsreel taken in 1947 after a major snowfall here in New York City. It sounds way too familiar...
By the way, my street has still not been plowed. How about yours?

It's 9 a.m. Wednesday morning, and the snow plow finally arrived on our street: Luquer between Clinton and Court.
Wow, three days later. That must be a record in the city. Still waiting here on my block.
By the way, has anyone gotten mail?
President between Hoyt and Bond. No plow.
10am on Wednesday.. no plow & no mail yet on Union (between Court & Smith st.) on what 'used to be' a bus-route, and now not even an NYPD route?
No word from our Public Advocate either? or absentee Councilmen? Not a political creature is stirring, not even a tweet...?
WOW. I love this footage. Thank you SO much for sharing it. I posted this and a link to the pictures of the icicle on my FaceBook page Abandoned by Bloomberg. Thank you again.
