Carroll Gardener Cristina Casciano-King is passionate about hosiery, so passionate in fact, that she just launched PEEK BROOKLYN, a new business dedicated to bringing the finest European hosiery to fashion enthusiasts in this country.
Peek Brooklyn is a logical step for this Pennsylvania native, who started collecting hosiery a few years back, when she had to wear all black for her job in the cosmetic industry.  To add some visual interest, she added patterned stockings to her wardrobe and found that she couldn't live without the accessory, even after she left the job. Cristina now owns about 400 pairs, bought mostly during trips to England, France and Italy.  Over a cup of coffee during my interview with her, Cristina smiles and admits: "It became a bit of a habit."  She also confesses that she tends to pick out a pair of tights before picking out the rest of her outfit.
She shares news about hosiery trends and highlights her favorite new varieties with other aficionados on her blog Who Moved My Birkin.
Peek Brooklyn allows Cristina to offer the latest hosiery from such brands as Jonathan Aston, Philippe  Matignon, Memoi, and Pretty Polly. Currently, there are about 146 different styles available. She hopes to add her own hosiery designs soon.  And perhaps, one day, she may fulfill her dream of opening a hosiery store right here in Carroll Gardens.

Currently, Peek Brooklyn is offering $5 off to Carroll Gardeners by simply using the promo code GOWANUS at check-out. So click on over to PEEK BROOKLYN!
