Santa with Vince Mazzone and Dr. Mike Polanski of the Court Street Merchants Association
When the switch was flipped and the colorful lights were turned on, there were audible oohs and aaahs escaping from all the kids assembled yesterday evening for the annual tree lighting in Carroll Park. And when Santa Claus seemed to appear out of nowhere, well,  the little faces lit up.
Later, the kids got a chance to greet Santa personally, receive a free toy and drink hot chocolate and munch on candy distributed by elves.
The event always seems to mark the beginning of the Holiday season in the neighborhood.  It is organized by the Court Street Merchants Association, with the help of Friends of Carroll Park.
'Twas truly festive.

A fun time was had by all! I am just so surprised how this event has grown the past couple of years.
