Having a drink at an outside table in front of Abilene's on February 1st? Better than shoveling snow, I say. Obviously, many Carroll Gardeners took full advantage of the balmy weather by spending some serious time outside.

I just read the German news and saw the photos. It seems to be a catastrophe all over Europe.

Remember how cold and miserable last winter was? If this keeps up, we are getting the best winter offers - the stunning clear (and golden at times) light, clean, crisp and fresh air - without the pain. We are already halfway through winter - so here's crossing fingers. I am sorry for Berlin and Europe. My word verification is "senses" - winter sofar has indeed been a pleasure for the senses.
