Over/Under filming in Carroll Gardens back in  August 2011

Some of you may remember that in August of 2011, a production company was shooting scenes for a TV pilot entitled Over/Under in Carroll Gardens. One of the locations was Mazzone Hardware on Court Street, which turned into 'Puzzo' Hardware for two days that summer.

The plot of the series centered on Paul (played by Steven Pasquale), a day trader with a gambling problem, who gets fired from his job and moves to Brooklyn with his wife and child. There, he meets Marino (Anthony Carrigan), an expectant father. Together, the two start a high end bookie business.

The script for Over/Under was written by Sheila Callaghan, who set the action in a fictional neighborhood called Kerrigan Gardens, which is based very closely on Carroll Gardens, where Callaghan once lived and hopes to return to one day.

Unfortunately, Over/Under was not picked up as a series, but Callaghan contacted me recently to let me know that the pilot that was shot in August 2011 will air on USA Network as a 2-hour TV movie. It will premiere tomorrow, January 4th, at 10pm.

"I am very proud of the work we did. The neighborhood looks gorgeous, and my actors delivered some fine performances. Just watching it again makes me incredibly homesick. :)" Callaghan told me.

Don't forget to tune in tomorrow at 10 PM, everyone.

I watched the premierand I fully enjoyed it. USA is an absolute favorite TV channel of mine for a number of shows and Ted needs to allow Over/Under to unravel as a series. At the end of the premiere I was left interested

Over/Under needs to be picked up as a series. It is brilliant and relatable in today's world. The acting was the best and the characters chosen were fantastic. This is one of the best shows I have watched on cable since the Sopranos. Needs to be picked up as a series. It will for sure receive an award when it is picked up.

Too bad it won't be a series. It was very well acted and directed.

I thought it was laughably bad, but it was fun seeing the neighborhood. The acting was fine but the dialogue was horrible.
