Upcoming Meeting Of EPA Gowanus Canal Superfund Community Advisory Group

The EPA Gowanus Canal Superfund Community Advisory Group (CAG) will be meeting on Tuesday
Feb. 26 at 6:30 PM at Mary Star of the Sea Senior Housing, 41 1St Street.
The meeting will focus on the Proposed Remedial Action Plan (PRAP), which was released in late 2012.

Just a reminder: the EPA will be accepting public comments on the PRAP till the end of April 2013.

  2. the EPA has no funds for cleanup so they hold meetings

    supporters like meetings because it gives the impression that EPA is doing something

    EPA has been holding meetings on the Hudson River superfund since 1984 and don't expect the Gowanus superfund cleanup to occur any faster.

  3. The EPA does not pay for the clean-up. The polluters do.

    The EPA has come up with the most comprehensive plan for a clean-up ever presented.
    Next step is to have a Record of Decision signed o it becomes law. This will hopefully happen later this year.

    And we need to get the City and Mayor Bloomberg to stop delaying.
