A reader sent a message to say that there were lots of news trucks parked on Carroll Street at Bond Street this morning.
I just took a brisk walk with my camera to check it out. A reporter informed me that the Mayor was there to thank Emergency Responders at the Fire Department EMS Station at 347 Bond Street for their performance in yesterday's storm.
That may be, but he may also be there to check on the progress at the 700-unit Lightstone Group project just around the corner.  After all, Bill de Blasio is all for 12-story residential buildings near the Gowanus Canal, though he lobbied hard against the EPA taking over the environmental cleanup and declaring the waterway a Superfund site.
