Many Carroll Gardeners took time this past Memorial Day to participate in a moving celebration in Carroll Park to honor those who  gave their life in service of their country.
They were joined by public officials, policemen from the 76th Precinct as well as firemen from the local firehouse.
After a blessing by Father Astor Rodriguez and a beautifully sung rendition of the national anthem by Christian Branch, a wreath was laid in front of the War Memorial by veterans from the neighborhood.
As in years past, the  event was organized by Court Street Merchants Association with the help of Friends Of Carroll Park.

Thanks, Martine. I loved the little girl in her American flag dress.

Allison, your daughter was so cute throughout the ceremony. I just had to include her photo. I am gal you like it.
I also heard from a friend that the pregnant woman on the fourth picture from the top had her baby the next day.
That's what I love about capturing life n Carroll Gardens.
