I am finally back in the Auvergne, that glorious part of France, right in the center of the country, where my family has owned a stone farm house for the past 44 years.
The weather has been glorious here. One day has been sunnier than the next, with temperatures between 85 and 90 degrees. It is quite a pleasant surprise after last summer, when it rained almost every day during our stay.
The sunflowers are in full bloom, the farmers are cutting the grass for hay, and the clear night sky is filled with stars.
Slowly and surely, I have been putting order in the garden at the house. I have pulled barrels upon barrels of weeds. To my pleasant surprise, many of the plants have survived the winter and the flower beds are starting to look lovely. I'll post photos as soon as I am done.
The days here have been filled with visits to friends and chats with neighbors, catching up on village news, and planning this summer's home improvements.
Life in New York is busy, but the days are just as filled here.

Greetings Katia,
Glad you made it "home" safe. So beautiful the sunflowers. Every photo - TRUE eye candy!
Thanks, Ms. G. You would love it here. Still no rain. It has been terribly dry here.
Miss you in the neighborhood Katia - we love your blog at Shop Our Closet on Court street. These photos are amazing why would you ever leave that place - so beautiful! We are so jealous right now! Have a great time and we'll keep reading and dreaming...
Stay tuned for more photos, Nancy. Have been a bit busy here in France, but will take time to post soon.
