Judging by the sheer number of people, the 41st Atlantic Antic in Brooklyn was a huge success yesterday. The famous street fair was every bit as fun as in years past, featuring music, fun merchandise, and great eats.
The weather certainly co-operated since the cooler fall temperature made it quite pleasant.
The only regret I have is that I missed the belly dancers and the arabic music, which is always set up between Clinton and Court Street near Sahadi's. That is always my favorite part of the Antic. By the time I made it to that part of the fair, our elected officials had taken the stage, so I decided not to linger. Was Eddy the Sheik there yesterday?
Were you there?

Happy to say that Eddie was there in the early part of the afternoon.
Glad to hear it. I must have just missed him.
I think the Antic has gotten way too commercial. when it first started 41 years ago, it was more like a flea market. I know I had a blast inviting friends to Boerum Hill to walk the avenue and have a couple of cold beers and to look for and find treasures. It was a fun street experience; so unlike the rude, pushy crowds there this year. Kathleen
