Carroll Gardeners took time to assemble solemnly in Carroll Park on Sunday night for a candlelight vigil to remember the victims of last Friday's attack in Paris, to support the french community in our neighborhood,  and to hope for world peace.
Our elected officials, including Borough President Eric Adam were in attendance. So were leaders of Jewish, Muslim and Christian faiths. Together with the flag of France and the Untied States, the flags of Lebanon and Kenya were flown to commemorate the victims of recent terror attacks in those countries.

Those assembled then made their way to St. Agnes Church for an interfaith service.

The coming together with friends and neighbors during times of political unrest is of course just a small gesture, yet it is deeply meaningful.  Together, let us hope for understanding, healing, and peaceful resolutions in the months and years to come.
