Best haircut! I'm in every 6 weeks and love the cut. $17 or $18 - can't remember b/c I always throw in a tip...but by far the best deal on Henry Street in Carroll Gardens. And they always have the daily newspapers and all your favorite gossip mags - all current editions to browse if you have to wait.
oh, this is so funny! I was at Lana's getting my son's hair cut and she showed me this photo from your blog. She said someone sent it to her, but she didn't know where it was posted. I actually said, 'I bet this is on the PMFA blog.' because I know you post these photos of the day. She wondered out loud if 'old fashioned' was the right word. She said she'd prefer to be thought of as 'authentic'! She is a very kind-hearted, funny person, and she gives a wonderful cut : )
Thanks for letting her know that the photo was posted here. So many people have said wonderful things about Lana. I must stop by to say hi to her one day.
I've been living in the neighborhood for about 4 years now. I hardly ever see this place open. Always wanted to try them out, but have no idea what their hours are.
Katia -- You should definitely profile Lana. She gives an amazing haircut, but she doesn't really know how to get the word out about her barber shop. A lot of her older clientele has been moving on over the last few years, so she needs to reach out to the newer folks in the neighborhood and get them in the door or she'll have to shut down. (Btw, her hours are 9am to 6pm Tuesday - Saturday.)
That's where I used to get my hair cut 35 years ago. I don't remember what the price was but my rent was $385. for a 25x65 apartment. This was back when I had more hair and before I found a good woman who now tends to my pruning. Mr. Pardon Me

My husband gets his hair cut here. She says she's hurting for business - PMFA readers give it a try!
Yes, let us keep the owner in business. She has been part of the community for quite some time. Thanks, Becky.

My husband and son both go to Lana for haircuts and she does a beautiful job. Highly recommend her for both adult and kid cuts!
