By now it has become clear that Winterstorm Stella may not bring the apocalyptic weather that had been predicted for today, but it has certainly given many New Yorkers an excuse to relax a bit.
Instead of the 18 to 20 inches of snow this Nor'Easter was going to dump on us, it has barely snowed 5 inches before it turned into ice and then rain. Pretty anticlimactic, I would say.
The sound of the ice hitting my Brooklyn rear windows this morning, however, was rather dramatic.
What are you up to today? Are you at home with a nice cup of steaming cocoa or did you make your way to work?

ReplyDeleteMe, just enjoying 75 degree weather in LA trying to figure out what color shorts I'm going to wear today, when I get around to it. Decisions, decisions.
I am jealous.
Deleteno one shovels so this morning the ice in front of Kittery and Bagels on Park at subway entrance was trecherous. Yesterday was spent worrying about the ice.
ReplyDeleteI see you have joined the masses by calling yesterday's storm by its media given name. Hurricanes are given names NOAA, winter storms are named by the popular media. A winter storm is just a winter storm, no name is needed. I never thought that you would be joining/corrupted by today's popular media.
ReplyDeleteWith a name like Stella, how could I resist.
ReplyDeleteIt's WED afternoon and it would be nice if the Capital One Bank on Court and 2nd plowed the sidewalk infront of the business. #Sad #notagoodneighbor!
ReplyDeleteOr the TD Bank on Court Street. At 1:30 pm on Wednesday, the sidewalk had a thick coat of icy snow on it.
ReplyDeleteCorner of Court and 2nd still isnt plowed. 311 didnt respond. Also tons of trash infront of Captial One bank. Bad Neighbor!
