You may have noticed that a small café opened at 306 Court Street here in Carroll Gardens just a few days ago. Sweet Intententions serves hot and cold beverages, Blue Marble ice cream, baked goods by Colson Patisserie, as well as chocolates from Jacques Torres.
Though more of a take-out place, there is a table near the window and a counter with stools, so customers can sit down and warm up with a hot chocolate on a cold winter day.
Welcome to Carroll Gardens, Sweet Intentions!

Here is a little history on 306 Court Street.
This retail space has hosted quite a number of different businesses in recent years. For 28 years, it was home to Casale's Carroll Gardens Jeweler. When it closed in 2009, Dandelion, a woman's boutique, moved in. That was followed by Glow, an accessories store. For the past year, it was home to "Mama Says Comics Rock", a comic book store.

This space has held a variety of tenants. This looks like another casualty. A nice comfy space to linger might be more welcome. With all the. Offer and cake options unless they are stroller friendly I don’t see much use for this place past st Valentine’s Day.

why would this neighborhood need more “stroller-friendly” venues? the entire district is already a de-facto playground for screaming toddlers and their mothers who lunch. see east one, smith canteen, the new plant café as well as stumptown, court street grocers, brooklyn habit, the chocolate store, the farmacy, mooburger, bareburger, baby burger, etc.

Fair point, Babyface Costello.

That's exactly what I meant. Strollers and nannys equals cash. It just doesn't appeal to me this place. Grab and Go should be sit and stay like ye old coffee spot on corner of Smith and Union and that record place that used to be on Smith. Halcyon, which is now just a room in a building selling records. I was sad to see that Stumptown open up but anything is better than Starbucks or Duncan Doughnuts as far as style goes. Perhaps there are less people around during the week to warrant such a spot but the last thing we need is more ice cream and coffee...sorry guys.

Thank you, babyface! I could not agree more. It's time for me to move.
